El Morro National Monument Cap
Over centuries, thousands of people from many backgrounds have left their mark on the sandstone bluff called El Morro. Some of the earliest are the ancestral Puebloan people, who created petroglyphs by pecking at the rock with chisels made of various materials. El Morro is home to more than two hundred such petroglyphs, many of which are visible along Inscription Loop Trail.
