Golden Spike National Historical Park Travel Stamp

Replica locomotives today make demonstration runs along a short section of track at this site. Here, the ceremonial final spike was driven after construction of America’s first transcontinental railroad was complete. Visitors enjoy reenactments of the 1869 ceremony, hikes on the Big Fill Loop Trail and two auto tours along the railroad grade.
