San Antonio Missions National Historical Park Travel Stamp - Espada
First of the Texas missions, Espada was originally founded in 1690 and moved to its current location in 1731. Here Spanish and Native cultures collided and became a center for learning and practicing many valuable trades. The remaining chapel now marks the southern terminus of the popular Mission Trail along the San Antonio River.
